A dirty fence is one of the fastest ways to make an otherwise well-kept yard look neglected. Algae, mildew and general grime build up on fencing faster than most homeowners expect, especially in Florida's humidity.

We match the pressure and nozzle to your fence's material. Wood needs a wider spray and lower pressure to avoid gouging or splintering the surface, while vinyl and metal can generally handle a tighter pattern, which also helps lift old paint or surface rust from metal fencing.

The right approach depends on the fence's age, material and condition, so tell us what type of fence you have when you request a quote.

How we clean it

Most fences are cleaned with a solution that loosens algae and mildew, followed by a rinse at the right pressure for the material: lower pressure and a wider spray on wood, a bit more on vinyl and metal. For more on the difference between methods, see soft wash vs. pressure wash.

  • Getting the yard ready to sell or list the property

Protecting your property

  • Wide spray and lower pressure on wood
  • Garden beds and plants rinsed before and after
  • Gates, latches and hardware cleaned without forcing water into them

What to expect

Wood that has turned gray from sun exposure will look cleaner, but cleaning alone won't bring back new-wood color; that takes brightening or staining, which are separate projects. Wood fibers can raise slightly after any wash and settle as the wood dries. Cleaning doesn't fix rot or loose boards.

Why it's worth doing right

A fence is one of the first things people notice about a yard, and it's also one of the most commonly neglected surfaces since it's easy to walk past without really looking at it up close. Algae and mildew hold moisture against wood in particular, which over years can contribute to rot at the base of posts and panels. A yearly cleaning is a small step that protects the material, not just the appearance.

Common questions

Fence Washing FAQ

Will pressure washing damage a wood fence?

Not when the pressure and nozzle are matched to the wood. We use a wider spray pattern and lower pressure on wood specifically to avoid gouging the surface or forcing water into the grain.

Can you clean a fence without damaging the plants next to it?

Yes. We work carefully around garden beds and landscaping, and can rinse nearby plants afterward if any cleaning solution reaches them.
